FOOD - FUN - FRIENDS - FOR THE OVER 55s

Our motto might be 'FOOD - FUN - FRIENDS for the over 55s' but we also have youth on our side! 28-year-old Heather Allan is one of our escort volunteers and she's about to get married!
Heather comes into the Centre for an hour each Wednesday morning and afternoon, helping members get to and from our Day Club on our mini-buses.
She lives nearby and takes a break from her work with permission from her employer to do voluntary work.
Everyone loves Heather and we were all delighted when we heard she was getting married. Chair of Trustees, Sandy Payne, and volunteer drivers, Larry Freeman and David Hulance, recently presented her with a cute Teddy bear, a John Lewis voucher and money collected by club members.
Everyone wished her and her husband-to-be, Dominic, all the best for a lovely wedding on 27 August in Brighton, and their future life together.
We were especially delighted when Heather commented: "I've been volunteering since I was 16 and The Brooklands Centre is the best place I've volunteered at."
